Moon Taxi Listed As 4th "Tennessee Band You Should Listen to Now'":: 2012 Bonnaroo Videos Call For Reconsideration

:Paste: "12 Tennessee Bands You Should Listen to Now"4. Moon Taxi Hometown: Nashville
Band Members: Trevor Terndrup, Spencer Thomson, Tommy Putnam, Wes Bailey, Tyler Ritter
Current Release:Cabaret
This five-man band—formed in 2006 at Nashville’s Belmont University—treats preserving “breathing space” in their music like an art form. While they were in the studio recording their latest album, Caberet (which features a guest appearance from Matisyahu) the band says they aimed for the minimalism of bands like Radiohead. “Gunflower” hits that “less-is-more” nail right on the head, where a heart-wrenching chorus adds emotional weight to the song’s simple structure.

Tonight: Moon Taxi Rides Through Lexvegas

The Nashville based band, Moon Taxi makes their quarterly visit to Lexington, KY tonight. The band will undoubtedly bring their uniquely crafted, infectious style, of rock-swagger  infused with jams that effortlessly swing from  "melodic-indiepop" to straight"face-melting".

Fresh out of the studio with the release of the second studio effort only weeks away, The Taxi has declared tonight's show a Cosmic Charlies to be nothing short of live listening party of the new record, for Lexington, fans. Of course, when one considers the band's more than five year history of declaring  its love of Lexington,..until finally   resorting to calling the city "Sexington."

Lastly, and certainly worth mentioning, Moon Taxi's brand new DVD release will be available at the
merch table  this evening as well. Below is  a nice clip of wh…

Moon Taxi Rides Back Through Kentucky

Moon Taxi - 11/22/09
Originally uploaded by turnerburns The Moon Taxi winter tour rides back through Kentucky tonight, for another stop at Headliners Music Hall In Louisville. In the short time since the band's stop at Headliners back in September, Moon Taxi have certainly kept themselves on the road and busy.

Fresh off a run through the deep south opening for Matisyahu, the band rolled through Lexington, Kentucky's newly opened venue, Cosmic Charlies, on 11/21/09. It is no secret that the band has often proclaimed 'Lexvegas' as one of their "favorite cities to play in the country." With close to three years of blowing the roof off Lexington's, now closed venue, The Fishtank, the night would mark their first time taking the stage of the new, double the capacity, and improved venue across the street.
Early in the evening there were murmurs throughout the thin crowd questioning as to whether or not the band would fill the venue. With Cosmic Charlies havin…
